What a “handoff” really is
You choose a trusted person — a spouse, an adult child, a close friend — and a backup person if you like. When they need it, they open the handoff you prepared and see who to call, what matters medically, and where the important papers are kept. Preparing a Trusted Person Packet is not the same as sending it. Life on Track doesn’t upload or share your household information by itself; whether, when and how it reaches them is your decision.

Each way carries the same Offline Handoff File, which opens on its own with no internet needed.
Your trusted person can open it as soon as they have it (and its password, if you set one). It isn’t locked until something happens, so give it to them when you’re ready for them to read it.
Your Backup Copy lets you restore your information in Life on Track. A Trusted Person Packet or Offline Handoff File helps someone read the information you choose to share. For accounts, “Show only the name” keeps the name visible; “Do not show this at all” leaves the account out. Review the prepared copy before sharing it.

Review the copy, then print it or create an Offline Handoff File. You can password-protect the digital handoff.
Your trusted person can read it without buying or installing Life on Track. If you protect it, give them the password separately.

- Keep essential bills running for now.Utilities, mortgage, and insurance should stay active. Do not cancel subscriptions or close accounts yet.
